DIBOR WINTER CATALOGUE

Design of Catalogue for Dibor Mail Order, promoting their winter range of products.

Dibor specialise in unique and beautiful pieces for the home and loved ones, especially inspired by rustic French interior design. They rely largely on sales generated through their printed media, specifically the catalogues that are mailed out to their database of customers. For the winter collection, they wanted to create a rustic farm house feel, with colours and themes that complemented the settings that customers may use the products in. They wanted a sense of winter, but without any element of coldness or overt festiveness.

Ideally, Dibor want their catalogues to stay with their customers for a whole quarter – until the next season’s arrived at their door. For this reason, they are keen to make their designs more than just a range of products displayed in a purely functional manner. They wanted bits of detail to draw in the customer and buy into the idea that Dibor is more than just a shop. We created a range of hand illustrated sketches to sit in amongst the different pages, with each on referencing the products shown.

Fundamentally, the bottom line of any catalogue is to sell products. The functionality, clarity and ease of use are what separates a successful piece of work from a loss making one. As with any of my catalogue designs, we made this my top priority when designing the Dibor winter range one. It was imperative that prices, product codes and description were all clear and uniform, while means of placing an order were easily found and explained.
